Beer Bathing in Budapest | How to Use AirBnB Experiences

Airbnb Experience in Budapest, Hungary

"Local Craft Beer Tasting at a Beer Spa"

Whenever I travel, I am always looking for ways to emerge myself in local culture and have authentic experiences. Airbnb has an amazing experience feature that is gaining traction quickly and aimed at giving travelers a memorable experience in addition to a sweet place to stay.

Rasmus, Adela, and I spent Christmas in Budapest, and over our week we tried three different Airbnb experiences. Lucky for us I stumbled upon this curious experience with 4.89 stars!

"The Beer Spa"

December 19, 2019

I have been exploring Airbnb experiences around Europe since September, and so far this one was the most enjoyable! Drinking craft beer in hot water getting you buzzed at 2x the normal rate LOL. It was truly relaxing, funny, and overall novel.

After spending an hour at the Széchenyi Thermal Bath relaxing, we went to the "beer bath."

And basically, they set you and your group up in individual tubs separated by their house beer on tap, after granting you unlimited consumption. The tubs were so big that my sister and I ended up sharing one.

They help you control the temperature of your tub so that you can make it warmer or cooler based on preference. And in your thermal water, they place hops, malt, yeast, and beer salt (pictured). These ingredients are the most beneficial for your skin.

In addition to having the house beer on tap, our serves brought out other local Hungarian craft beers in 20-minute intervals. Our whole experience was about an hour and a half. Check out their labels below. We started with some IPAs and lighter beers and finished with a stout, my favorite.

Hungarian Craft Beer

I think my family really enjoyed the experience. My sister and I were laughing the entire time! The service was awesome. We were wondering why they don't have these in the states yet?

Snack Break

And when you have a drinking crowd you cannot forget snacks. In addition to the Hungarian beers, they brought us out local Hungarian snacks like sausage, hummus, and chocolate.

10/10

from me. I think this would be a total hit in the USA. And I have to say, if you are ever in Budapest, don't miss this one. It is a one-of-a-kind experience that I will not forget!

How to Use Airbnb Experiences:

Airbnb Experience is a feature that Airbnb.com offers to travelers wanting to experience a city in a new way. The site boasts over 30,000 unique experiences put on by local guides, with no Airbnb rental required.

They offer a vast range of experiences, from cooking classes, photography sessions, literature, religion, hiking, art, food tours, you name it! I have been floored by the offerings I’ve seen.

Booking an experience is super simple. You can use the Airbnb website or mobile app to book an experience. When you open the website or app, look for the experiences section. Then, choose a specific city and dates, or browse through all experiences. You do not have to have a home booked on Airbnb in order to book an experience.

Tips on Booking from a Frequent User:

1. Save the places you like for later. Airbnb has a great feature that allows you to group your finds. This makes them easy to find later. It is easy to lose an experience!

2. Utilize the “lists” feature. If you look in my account you’ll see oodles of lists like Honeymoon 2019, Madrid, Budapest, Santorini. I love to save items into my wish lists, and when you finally find a few it's great to group them and be able to compare and contrast.

3. Don’t be afraid to ask. This mochi ball experience I did was actually showing unavailable on the booking calendar during the dates I’d be there with my mom. So I just reached out to Yukiko and told her how interested I was. So she opened the day up just for us! Ask and you shall receive.

4. Read the reviews. This app does an awesome job of collecting the thoughts of the participants. Read what people have to say and you’ll walk into the experience with a pretty good idea of what you’re going to get. Also, leave a thoughtful review— it helps the rest of us.

If you're new to Airbnb, get $15 off of a $50 or more experience by using my link: https://www.airbnb.com/c/lindleyg11?currency=USD

In the last few months, I've done six Airbnb Experiences. I did a mochi ball-making experience in California, a photoshoot in Madrid, multiple food tours, and now a beer bath in Hungary!
